A heartfelt farewell and excitement for the future

By Gail Zurek, President/CEO, Visalia Chamber of Commerce

With a mix of emotions, I write to inform you of my resignation as President and CEO of the Visalia Chamber of Commerce, effective June 7, 2024. Serving this incredible community for nearly a decade has been an honor. As I transition, I want to express my gratitude for the deep partnership that has led to our collective achievements.

Reflecting on the transformative journey we've undertaken together, I am immensely proud of the innovative spirit that has defined the Visalia Chamber of Commerce during our shared tenure. Our commitment to the business community and the well-being of Visalia has resulted in significant milestones, leaving a lasting legacy for the Chamber.

I am deeply grateful to the Board of Directors serving currently and since 2014, the entire business community, and our dedicated staff for their unwavering support, collaboration, and hard work. Chamber work is not always easy, but together, we've made it both fun and worthwhile. Your dedication has been the driving force behind our successes, from developing crucial resources for local businesses to establishing a stable financial foundation for the Chamber.

As I bid farewell, I am confident that the Visalia Chamber of Commerce will be in capable hands. The selection committee is committed to finding a candidate to carry on the incredible work we started and help the Chamber reach new levels.  If you know a qualified candidate, more information about the position and process can be found at Visaliachamber.ord/president. I am excited to witness the continued success and growth of the Chamber under new leadership. To ensure a seamless transition, I will be working closely with the Board of Directors.

Serving as your President and CEO has been a profound honor. The Visalia Chamber of Commerce holds a special place in my heart, allowing me to meet and serve countless wonderful individuals in this community. The role of a Chamber of Commerce is a unique and vital one, acting as a convener of leaders addressing complex business challenges and celebrating our business community. Throughout this journey, I've had the privilege of working alongside all of you during the most challenging and extraordinary times in the lives of your businesses and our community.

Over these nearly 10 years, our focus has extended beyond the growth of local businesses to shaping policies and legislation that positively impact the entire community. From championing the creation of a microbrewery district to advocating for sensible solutions for commercial vehicles and supporting local businesses facing ADA legal challenges, we have left an indelible mark on Visalia. Our collaborative efforts, especially during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, showcased our commitment to supporting and connecting local businesses with vital resources.

As I step down on June 7th, I am filled with gratitude for the privilege of leading the Visalia Chamber of Commerce. The journey has been remarkable, and I am confident that the Chamber will continue to thrive under new leadership.

I express my deepest thanks for your unwavering support and collaboration over the years. I am excited to see what new horizons lie ahead for this dynamic organization.

With heartfelt gratitude and warm regards,

Gail Zurek
