February: City Update
/Chamber Business Update– February 2025
As athletes 50 and better know, winning never gets old.
Visalia is once again primed to celebrate active aging and community building when the Visalia Senior Games kick off on Thursday, March 27.
“Senior Games 2025 is fast approaching, and we’re excited to welcome athletes back for another slate of competition and fun,” shares Jason Glick, Parks & Recreation Director. “Our long weekend event allows folks both locally and from out of the area to enjoy the competition and camaraderie and all that Visalia has to offer.”
Under the umbrella of the California Senior Games Association, the Visalia Senior Games invites participants from throughout California (the western United States and beyond!) to take part in one of the area's premiere 50 and better events.
This year’s Games include Cornhole, 3 Point Contest, Pickleball, Disc Golf, Track & Field, Table Tennis, Swimming and Archery. Registration is open now at visalia.city/seniorgamesreg.
“Thanks to the support of Kaweah Health and their generous sponsorship, all athlete fees are being waived this year for our Senior Games participants,” adds Glick.
The Games bring positive economic impact, competitors, supporters, and cheerleaders of all ages. Those visiting are invited to stay and play, enjoying all the city has to offer and the opportunity to unwind after a day of competition with dinner, drinks, or entertainment.
The purpose is deeper than dollar signs, however, as the Visalia Senior Games presents an opportunity to build community and camaraderie, promote the benefits of active living and showcases “A Better Way of Living.”
